Description

Leadwood is a rare Southeast African exotic hardwood that is usually available only for African woodworkers. It is very unusual for woodworkers to find it on the US market. Colors in this lumber range from reddish brown to lead gray with white toned sapwood. Surface checks, edge checks, rough edges, and live edges may be present in some boards. This wood has air dried for many years and is ready to use. It has been surfaced on two sides. Use this unusual hardwood in wood accents, carving, furniture, inlay, woodturning, and other fine woodworking articles. This piece has checks. Please see pictures for details.
